Using the latest technology in order to support or refute a claim
TAC & INSURANCE CLAIMS
Hindsight Forensic Engineering is committed to being one of Australia’s leading road safety consulting firms. That’s why we focus not only on providing expert opinions in litigation; we dedicate time to working with VicRoads, State Coroners, and other advocacy groups towards the ultimate goal of safer vehicles and safer roads. The experts of Hindsight Forensic Engineering have experience in every Australian State and Territory and understand the different compensation laws throughout Australia.
Disputed TAC & Insurance Claims
Disputed Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and insurance claims can involve injured drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists. Claims can also involve injuries resulting from collisions and incidents on all forms of public transportation including buses, trams, and trains. Hindsight Forensic Engineering is able to evaluate the injury mechanism on a biomechanical basis to determine whether the forensic evidence is more consistent with another cause - such as a previous fall or assault - than with a motor vehicle collision. If you have a disputed claim, please call us to discuss how we can assist.
Contributing Factors (Contributory Negligence)
Common Law damages received from the TAC may be reduced if it is determined that there was negligence on the part of the injured person. Hindsight Forensic Engineering are neutral experts who scientifically identify factors which likely caused or contributed to a collision – such as speed, impact orientation, perception and reaction, visibility, roadway design, roadway conditions, weather and vehicle performance. Identification of contributing factors assists clients in establishing liability on behalf of the various parties. Please contact us today to discuss how we can assist in establishing liability for your incident.
Staged Collisions and Insurance Fraud
Staged vehicle crashes and false insurance claims are a growing criminal problem. These cases may involve collisions with unknowing drivers or false claims for unnecessary body work or repair. Hindsight Forensic Engineering can help determining whether a claim is legitimate or likely fraudulent by examining forensic evidence, including vehicle damage patterns, airbag data, and points of rest. Call us now to discuss the specific aspects of a potential fraudulent claim.
Black Box Downloads to Support/Refute a Claim
Most newer vehicles have electronic data recorders or airbag modules (also known as a "black box"). In many cases, the data from the vehicle’s airbag module will support or refute an insurance claim. The data can indicate whether there were a single or multiple occupants in the vehicle at the time of a crash; whether the headlights or brake lights were illuminated; whether traction control was on or off; and the speed of the vehicle. The staff at Hindsight Forensic Engineering have examined hundreds of cases involving black box data. Please contact us to determine if this specific analysis may be relevant to your case.
